The Old Railroad Bed Trail follows the same path as the steam locomotive that traveled from the Huntsville Depot to the Monte Sano Hotel from 1888 until 1896.  Enjoy a bit of Huntsville’s past with hike leader and historian Bruce Martin.

2018 Fall Hike and Adventure Series

These FREE hikes offer natural beauty and exercise for the entire family but donations to help preserve green space are accepted! You don’t need fancy equipment! However, we do recommend:

  • long pants and comfortable shoes with good tread
  • bottled water
  • hiking sticks
  • trail snacks
  • and a camera to capture the experience

Dogs welcome, but must be on leads. In case of rain, hikes may be cancelled.  Please verify cancellation at landtrustnal.org or on the Land Trust of North Alabama Facebook Page (@landtrustnal).

RESERVATION IS REQUIRED for all guided hikes and events. Please register by 5 PM the Friday before weekend hikes. Please call 256-534-5263 or email questions@landtrustnal.org if you have questions or need additional information.
