Spring Guided Hike: Monte Sano Baths with Bruce Martin

FreeHike with Bruce Martin to the location of Monte Sano’s Historic Roman Style Baths which were a sought-after feature of the Hotel Monte Sano. Learn about the history of the once popular hotel, the railroad, and Tally-ho service that transported guests while enjoying the freshly sprung wildflowers and budding trees that adorn these trails. (3.5 hours / 4.5 miles / Difficult)

Address: Monte Sano Nature Preserve – Bankhead Trailhead (2442 Bankhead Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35801)
Directions: Take Pratt Avenue to Bankhead Parkway, cross Tollgate Road. Land Trust’s hiker’s parking lot is ½ mile further on right. Meet at the information kiosk.
2018 Spring Guided Hike Series: These FREE hikes offer natural beauty and exercise for the entire family but donations to help preserve green space are accepted! You don’t need fancy equipment! However, we do recommend:
- long pants and comfortable shoes with good tread
- bottled water
- hiking sticks
- trail snacks
- and a camera to capture the experience
Dogs welcome, but must be on leads. In case of rain, hikes will be cancelled. Please verify cancellation via here or on our Facebook Page.
