March 22, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

(2.5 hours / Difficult due to slippery, rocky surfaces / 3 miles) Join Historian David Young on an exploration of the Oak Park Trail system – a joint effort between Oak Park neighborhood volunteers and the Land Trust. The route will follow the Dallas Branch drainage basin, which includes a walk past flood control features and leads up to the waterfall at Raven Point. The end of the hike will follow Bankhead Trail, a trail rich with shallow sea fossils.

Location: Monte Sano Nature Preserve (Oak Park Trailhead) 2250 Oakwood Ave NE, Huntsville, AL 35801

The Land Trust of North Alabama is working diligently with our hike and trail care guides and closely monitoring the current state of affairs in Alabama, the United States, and the world in regards to the Coronavirus.  With the recent guidance from the CDC requesting avoidance of groups of 10 or more, we regret that this hike has been cancelled. However, all the Land Trust Nature Preserves are open and available for your use and enjoyment.
