Trail Care at Chapman Mountain

Trail building on Chapman Mountain continues! We will be headed out for work on the new Bulldog Trail. This trail is part of our trail agreement with Alabama A&M to provide public access to 225 acres of University-owned land that adjoins the northern boundary of the Land Trust’s Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. Please join us if you can! No experience required. Bug spray and sunscreen recommended. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Coming from Huntsville, cross Chapman Mountain and u-turn at Moores Mill Road. When safe, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. Drive through the gate and down the gravel road to the parking area at the bottom of the hill.
