Legacy Gifts

Leave a lasting gift of land preservation through a bequest or will, a life income gift, or a gift of special assets. Most legacy gifts offer tax benefits, have little or no current financial impact on you, and may result in the largest and most lasting one-time gift you ever make to the Land Trust.

Memorials & Honorariums

Honor a milestone or memorialize someone’s life and passion with a gift to further land preservation. Naming opportunities are also available to publicly and permanently honor someone about whom you care.

A variety of Naming Opportunities are available to meet different giving levels. Options include bird houses, interpretive signage, benches, picnic tables, and more. You can also select from a handful of special projects on our 2024 Project Wishlist.

DONATE IN HONOR OR MEMORY

Donate YOUR Land

Preserve a property that you love and ensure it is protected for future generations to enjoy. Do you have a family farm or land that is significant to you and your family or that has high conservation value? Would you like to preserve its legacy and ensure that it is available for future generations to enjoy? There are a number of planned giving options to help you achieve these goals, including outright land donation, willed donation, life estate, or conservation easement.

IRA Distributions & Stock Gifts

By transferring your mandatory IRA distribution or a gift of stocks and securities directly to the Land Trust of North Alabama, you can preserve our region’s natural assets while receiving potential tax benefits.

Donor Advised Funds

If you’ve created a Donor Advised Fund, you can contribute funds to the Land Trust at a time that is convenient for you.
